Abstract

Fungy are one of the bioaerosol that can affect the air quality in a room. As eukaryotic organisms fungi can be found every where included in public transportation such a public bus. In Jakarta the bus is one of the mass transportation modes used by residents to carry out their work activities. The presence of fungi in the bus can be risky for passengers and crew who breathe air in the bus such as allergies, asthma and other respiratory disorders. This study aims to determine the presence of fungi on several buses in the path of Pinang Ranti-Pluit and Kampung Rambutan-Kampung Melayu. This study was a cross sectional with a method of isolating fungi with agar plates and identified based on macroscopically and microscopically motphology. A total of 30 air samples were taken from five units bus in the morning, afternoon and evening time taken. The results of the study can be identified as Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, Penicillium spp, Mycellia sterilia, Monilia sithophila, Curvularia spp and Fusarium spp. It can be concluded that the presence of fungi that can be isolated on buses in Jakarta has the potential to cause a decrease in air quality on the bus.
