PENGGUNAAN PELUMPUH OTOT PADA PASIEN KRITIS
Keywords: muscle paralysis, icu, critical patients, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, monitoring
AbstractMuscle paralysis has been used for a long time in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for various conditions. Thus, a good understanding of the use of muscle relaxants in critical patients is needed. Critical patients generally have multiple abnormalities, so that the impact on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of muscle relaxants is required. The purpose of this study based on literature review will discuss the types of muscle relaxants, indications of the use of muscle relaxants in critical patients, the selection of muscle relaxants, the side effects that can arise from the use of these drugs and the monitoring required, and supportive efforts that must be given to critically ill patients with muscle paralysis. _Research method is through library study with descriptive exploratory approach. It can be concluded that the use of muscle relaxants in critical patients must be according to clinical indications and is individualized. In addition, multiple organ abnormalities in critical patients require more selective selection of muscle relaxants.
